Gouldian Finch Shipping
There are two carriers that accept live bird shipments in the United States. The United States Postal Service, and Delta airlines. We offer both shipping options for our birds.
USPS Express normally delivers birds in 1-2 days. Birds are shipped in well marked boxes and given special care during shipment. The birds will be held for pickup at your local post office, so they aren’t in a hot or cold delivery truck during the day. The post office will contact you at the number you give us during checkout once your birds arrive. We guarantee live delivery on all USPS shipments. Normally, even if the shipment is delayed, the birds arrive safely, as we take extreme care in making sure the birds are comfortable and nourished for up to five days in their micro-environment boxes. We only ship birds via USPS express on Monday’s and Tuesday’s. You will receive an e-mail with your tracking number the night before your birds are shipped.
Please note: In order to ensure the safety of your birds, holidays, extreme temperatures, and or weather conditions may delay shipments. Generally we will delay USPS shipments if temperatures will be above 95 degrees or below 20 degrees in the destination city for either of the two nights, or days after the birds are shipped. These orders will be shipped as soon as weather conditions allow.
Delta Airlines delivers birds to most airports that they fly to. Birds will arrive the same day shipped and are given special care during transport. This service is much more costly than USPS, but for larger orders is a really nice option if there is a major airport within driving distance and you are ordering a larger number of birds. We will contact you to setup a shipment date after your order.
Generally orders via Delta can be shipped as long as daytime highs are above 20 degrees on the day of shipment.
